Our Team

We are a team of women passionate about expanding opportunities for women's ice hockey in the area.

Leah Rankin

Leah grew up in Minnesota, but the high cost of the sport and lack of programs for girls in her area kept her from playing hockey until adulthood. Looking to make friends after grad school, she took adult learn to play at Sno King in 2016 and has been active in the local adult hockey community ever since. Leah has served on the board of Seattle Women's Hockey Club as well, but loves SnoCoWoHo for the efforts to bring travel hockey and player development opportunities to women of all levels of play while offering a super chill and chill mixed skill league where everyone can play with their friends and make new ones as well.

Sasha Portnova

Sasha started playing hockey during grad school as she decided it would be the most Midwestern thing she could do when she moved to Chicago. Little did she know, it would be her favorite sport of all that she wants to share with others and create opportunities for other women to experience it in the same supportive environment that she did back in 2016. In 2021, she decided to revive the SnoCoWoHo club (Everett, WA) and grow it to provide new experiences in women's hockey.

Claire Andrews

Despite growing up in Canada, Claire started playing hockey as an adult some time after moving to the United States. Finally, some Canadian representation in ice hockey! Way to defy the stereotype! šŸ˜Š In attempts to find a new sport to pass the time she tried both figure skating and ice hockey, and fell in love with hockey. She found that other skaters were really welcoming and helpful to her as a new skater, and wants to pay it forward to help others. She joined SnoCoWoHo as a way to get more practice and game experience and began helping with club duties in 2023.Ā
